Flower Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007 ARTIST STATEMENT: My whole life I've felt like a performer without an audience. Diva Manifestation Ritual began as a private act, drawing the same nude women over and over, using their unapologetic femininity as a vessel before I knew how to inhabit my own. The more I created, the more this eccentric persona revealed itself. Painting myself became the natural next step – to hold the frame around my own body and decide what it means. This show is where that ritual goes public. Life-size paintings and spontaneous figure drawings move between desire and being desired, grotesque and glamour – inhabiting a persona and realizing it was always yours.
