End of Summer Celebration: Japanese Garden Anniversary

Celebrate the end of summer and the 60th anniversary of our beautiful Japanese Garden with an evening of live performances, art, hands-on activities, and food throughout the gardens. Exclusively for Descanso Gardens members and La Cañada Flintridge residents Experience traditional and contemporary Japanese culture while enjoying special exhibitions and performances in a festive after-hours setting. Free with membership and to La Cañada Flintridge residents, no event registration required. Performances 5–7pm: Koto Music & Ikebana Demonstration with Saeko Kujiraoka Zirkelbach & Kaz Kitajima 5–7pm: DJ Set with Rosie Yasukochi 5pm & 6pm: Poetry Reading with Naomi Hirahara 5:30pm & 6:30pm: Taiko Drumming with Kishin Daiko Activities (5–7pm) Calligraphy Workshop & Demonstration — Kuniharu Yoshida Origami Craft Station — Japanese American National Museum Art Exhibitions (5–7pm) Sound of Water: Feminine Expressions of Fluidity at the Sturt Haaga Gallery LA’s Garden at the Boddy House Food & Drinks Refreshments will be available for purchase at The Market, Jones Coffee, the Rose Garden, the Promenade, and the Main Lawn.
