Windgrease Festival: Billy Higgins' Drumline of the Leaves

Night 4 of the Windgrease Festival brings a live conversation and drumline honoring the enduring influence of Los Angeles master musician Billy Higgins. With Kharon Harrison, Justin Brown, Jonathan Pinson & Kalum Harrison. These beautiful folks, each with a microphone and a snare, will go into a deep sharing about what Billy Higgins contributed to their way of going. All drummers shall be on brushes as his drumline of the leaves. In the 2220 Archives, free and open during festival event hours during the week, the space will transform into "Archive of Sound Days" — a living memorial to Billy Higgins — outfitted with archival photos/posters/printed matter, a discography wall, listening stations where folks can listen to records that Higgins plays on, and projections of interviews/concert clips from Higgins’ career spanning 50 years.
